Excellent shorts for the bike!, September 11, 2017

These shorts are great! They’re a super light material, kinda like boardshorts on the outside with moisture wicking material on the inside, they have heaps of ventilation and can be tightened by velcro straps on the side, but the elastic in the back is covered so you don’t have any ugly elastic showing and you can pull off wearing them around town as well as on the bike. They dry fast, don’t add much wind resistance or weight and with a pair of padded shorts underneath its the most comfortable ride I’ve ever had. What you can’t see in the pics is that they have ventilation holes on the top/inside of the thighs, so if you aren’t keen on showing a tiny bit of skin they might not be for you. They deflect a little water but aren’t water resistant as such – but if the top layer gets a little wet the bottom layer still stays pretty dry on your skin.

The zippered pockets are great and I never have to worry about losing my keys/wallet/cigarettes going over a bump. What I really like is that as I lose weight from training I can keep making these tighter, so they should last me a long time. I’ve worn them almost every day since delivery. Just hand wash and hang up and they’re ready for anther day on the bike!

I bought XL and usually wear a Lg. The sizing chart said to order a size or 2 larger than you usually wear. These fit great and work very well for riding. They didn’t catch on the seat when I got on the saddle like some of the other looser bike shorts that I have tried. I did not have the liner in. They were very comfortable and airy while riding. They are also comfortable to wear while not riding.

The only reason for 4 star and not 5 star is I blew out one of the front pocket zippers while riding for the first time (they seem to be light weight zippers). In all fairness though, I am 5’10” and 210lbs. Skinny people would not have this problem. The blown out zipper doesn’t really bother me, but needs to be mentioned for overweight people that want to buy these shorts that it would bother.

These are the first dedicated biking shorts I have purchased. Always just wore whatever I had in the closet. First thing I noticed is that they are cut a little different. Not in a bad way but not as baggy in the butt/crotch area. Went for a little ride around the neighborhood and could tell a difference in how I could move on the seat. No more worries of the occasional crotch snag on the seat. Best way I can think of to describe them is they are like a pair of swim trunks with a better crotch cut to fit sitting on a bike seat. Overall I would buy again. Cant beat the price and quality is good.
